(NYSE: SYK) announced today that it has received a subpoena from the United
States Department of Justice, Antitrust Division requesting documents for the
period January 2001 through the present regarding possible violations of
federal criminal law, including possible violation of the antitrust laws,
relating to the manufacture and sale of orthopaedic implant devices. Similar
requests have been directed to other companies in the orthopaedics industry.
Stryker intends to fully cooperate with the Department of Justice regarding
this matter.
